Gate fees are waived on Sunday morning to allow nearby residents to attend church services.In 1916, the childhood home of the Fox sisters was moved from Hydesville, New York to Lily Dale, NY. The sisters are considered to be the primary founders of modern spiritualism. On September 21, 1955 the cottage was destroyed by a fire.Lily Dale is often considered the most haunted place in Chautauqua county.
